Choosing the Best Makeup for Your Skin Type
We’ve all seen models that have flawless skin. Were they born that way or is it cosmetics? More than likely it is because they have flawless face makeup – powder, concealer, but most importantly, foundation. Choosing the right foundation will give you a perfect palette to apply the rest of your makeup onto and give you perfect model skin. It will give you a good canvas to start with, which will make the rest of your beauty routine easier and more effective.
The first thing you need to know is what type of skin do you have? Is it dry, combination or oily? One way to know is to see how your skin feels and looks about 20 minutes after you wash it. If it is still not shiny or oily and feels tight, it is considered dry. Combination skin can feel dry on the cheeks but has some oil and sheen on the T-zone from your forehead, nose and chin. Oily skin will feel a bit greasy and have a sheen to it that can be seen and felt.
If you have dry skin you want to choose a cream or solid foundation. These contain moisturizers that will help hydrate your skin and help it to look smooth. Combination skin responds well to liquids and cream-to-powder foundations. Try to choose formulas that have oil-free moisturizers to keep your T-zone looking its best. Oily skin will benefit from liquid foundation. There are several oil-free formulas that contain oil-blotting ingredients to help keep you shine free all day. You can also try using oil blotting sheets – simply keep a few handy in your bag throughout the day. They absorb any shine without messing up your makeup. You can find them at most drugstores or department stores.
