How Can I Lose Weight Fast?

You may ask yourself this question but the more important question is, “how can I be healthy?” With any diet plan that you may undertake, the one that will bring about long term success and optimal health is the one where you commit to some lifestyle changes.

Losing weight fast is not the answer. A plan that is drastic may lead to substantial temporary weight loss, but in the long run you will gain more weight back and be compromising your health.

So many Americans fall victim to the SAD (standard American diet). This is a diet that includes large amounts of processed junk foods, hydrogenated oils and refined sugars – all of which are devoid of nutrition and detrimental to good health. These foods are everywhere. They are packaged nicely and make meal preparation much faster and easier. However, these foods contain chemicals, preservatives and through processing are often stripped of any nutritional value they may have once had.

If you cut these foods out and replace them with healthier options that include fresh, organic produce, whole grains, nuts and some deep water, wild caught fish that is rich in heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids, you will drop weight even if you make no other changes to your lifestyle.

A calorie is not a calorie. It is those processed foods that are difficult to assimilate and cause weight gain. Replacing those foods with healthier options will guarantee weight loss because the foods that are straight from nature are easy for our bodies to process and don’t leave toxic residues and fatty deposits behind.

For cardiac health, it is a good idea to add some exercise to your regime. A brisk 30-minute walk 4-5 days each week will keep you fit and elevate your mood. Some light weights for resistance training will also improve your fitness and strength.

Forget the question, “how can I lose weight fast?” Instead ask yourself, “how can I be healthy?” The answer is lifestyle changes. Make healthy adjustments and the weight loss will follow!
