Ascensia Contour Test Meter Review
The Contour Blood Glucose Meter by Ascensia has two feature levels, basic and advanced so that you can use it with individual options. Using the Bayer’s No Coding™ technology it is accurate and easy to use and eliminates any errors that can arise through miscoding. It needs a tiny 0.6µL sample and takes just 5 seconds to give you a result. Data can be uploaded to your PC using the Diabetes Management Software from Bayer. It sells on Amazon for around 418 (list price $80).

The numbers on the display are large and easy to see and it gives accurate results under most circumstances (but see later). The test strips and meter are inexpensive if you buy them through Amazon. CVS, Rite Aid or Target charge $80 for the meter!

Some things to be aware of. How you draw blood is critical. If you ‘milk’ your finger you’ll produce more platelets which affect the accuracy and you need to do it immediately and not wait after you have pricked your finger.
