Will My Insurance cover Dental Veneers?

Your insurer might cover 50% or less of the bill, which is still a significant figure considering that veneers can run up to $2,000 per tooth. You can even opt to be outfitted with Lumineers porcelain veneers, which don’t greatly exceed $1,000 per tooth in cost. Less initial preparation work means more money in your pocket. However, anyone remotely considering getting Lumineers will have to find a certified Lumineers dentist in their area. If you are a fan of dental tourism, Lumineers in Mexico and in many other countries may be worth considering.
Since veneers can effectively be used in lieu of other restorations, it may be worth a shot asking your provider about having them replace deteriorating crowns or fillings. Veneers can safely be applied atop of crown to give them a more aesthetically appealing look until they can be fully replaced. Only your dentist will be able to make the final call as to which restoration is to be used.
If you find yourself struggling to obtain coverage for this procedure, don’t let it deter you. Cosmetic dentistry offices are willing to work with you to establish a payment plan. A number of offices work with CareCredit, a lender that provides loans to those specifically looking to undergo medical procedures. The terms of your financing agreement are to be sorted out by the lending agency which the dentist’s office works with. Your FICO score will be the final word on whether or not you will be approved for financing and at exactly what interest rate money will be lent to you. You should setup a consultation with a seasoned local cosmetic dentist to see what he/she recommends in terms of treatment and to scope out your payment options.
