Diet: The Ultimate Hemorrhoids ‘Cure’
Although the term hemorrhoid cure used in this context isn’t 100% accurate, it’s close enough. You will still have hemorrhoids; it’s just that you will no longer have any symptoms, so this is as good as a cure. Here in the United States, the leading cause of hemorrhoids is straining or ‘forcing’ stools to pass which puts pressure on the anal veins causing them to get a small bulge, the small bulge is the hemorrhoids. One of the big problems with hemorrhoids is that once this bulge forms, every time you pass stools it can further irritate the hemorrhoid. If the hemorrhoids are located at the anal opening then other things such as sitting, wiping with toilet paper and clothing rubbing can also irritate the condition potentially making it worse.
When it comes to preventing hemorrhoids or getting hemorrhoid relief, diet is the ultimate solution. When you look at the diet of the average American, it’s probably no small wonder that Americans report having a lot more hemorrhoids than people living in other industrialized countries. We eat a lot more processed foods than people in other countries, plus we consume a lot more foods with chemical ingredients. So what do all these poor dietary standards mean when it comes to hemorrhoids? Simply put, it means we aren’t eating enough fiber and this lack of fiber isn’t doing our colons any favors. Ideally, you should be passing stools at least once or twice a day. The stools should pass effortlessly from the body; too many people feel the need to ‘help’ or ‘push’ stools from the body. Since it’s this pushing that strains the anal veins and causes hemorrhoids to form in the first place, this is the best place to start reducing your risk of even getting hemorrhoids.
